Parashat Tzav - (command) Leviticus 6:1-8:36

Dear friends,
Chag Purim Sameach! I would like to thank all who participated in yesterday's wonderful social hour and Megillah reading both in-person and on Zoom. Special thanks to Aileen Spigelman for the delicious ice cream, to Eileen Hochstadt for the Hamentaschen and leading us in the English readings from the Megillah, to Barbara Johnson for Zooming us out to those who couldn't come in person, and to Rabbi Al Goldberg for his masterful rendering of the names of the ten sons of Hamen in one breath! Altogether, it was a memorable experience and gave me a chance to wear my wife's tutu which she had purchased for 2/22/22 with the thought of wearing it only on that day. I hope we will have some photographic evidence of the night's events, but not that particular one!
Please join me at the synagogue or on Zoom tonight at 7:30 pm and tomorrow morning at 9:30 am for our Shabbat services. We will continue our reading and studying of the Book of Leviticus (Vayikra) with the second portion of Tzav where instructions for the sacrifices are given and we conclude with a Haftorah from the prophet Jeremiah.
And tomorrow morning, we will recall the last time we were together for a large celebration, a dine-out at Hudson Beach celebrating Aaron Epstein's birthday. So it is only fitting that exactly two years later after suffering through the largest pandemic in our lifetimes, that we celebrate it again with a responsibly socially distanced kiddush luncheon in honor of Aaron's birthday. Please join us to help Aaron mark this special day and for us to be together as a community as well!
And remember, Passover is now just a month away!
