Parashat: Matot (Tribes) - Masei (Journeys) Numbers 30:2-36:13

MATOT-MASEI
Dear friends,
As I write this, we are preparing to return to Florida from South Carolina where we have driven our grandson to be with relatives for a couple weeks. Weather permitting, I will be with you in-person and on Zoom tonight at 7:30 pm and tomorrow morning at 9:30 am.
This is a special Shabbat weekend in that we are also observing Rosh Chodesh, the new month of Menachem Av. by chanting the Hallel (songs of praise) and reading a special Torah portion and Musaf service. For our regular weekly Torah reading and study, we will chant the double portion of Matot-Masei and in doing so, will complete the book of Bamidbar (Numbers). As if that isn't enough, we will be chanting the second Haftorah of Rebuke prior to Tisha B'Av continuing the Prophet Jeremiah's admonishments.
Please join us tonight and tomorrow morning in our services and discussions and mark Sunday, July 18th at 9:30 am on your calendars to participate in the reading of the Book of Lamentations (Eicha) in observance of Tisha B'Av. So, as we say whenever we complete a reading of a Book of the Torah---Chazak Chazak Vaynithazek (Be Strong Be Strong and Let us be Strengthened)!
