Parashat Eikev (if you follow) Deuteronomy 7:12-11:25
HafTorah Isaiah 49:14-51:3
Our Torah portion is Ekev, the third parashat of the Book of Devorim in which Moses tells the Israelites that if you follow Hashem's commandments that the reward of obedience will be prosperity, vital power and health. Adonai will honor his covenant with all of his people with love, blessings and enable them to multiply. He will bless the land and the fruit of that land if His people will walk in the ways he has taught them.
"And it should come to pass because ye hearken to these ordinances, and keep and do them that the Lord thy God shall keep with thee the covenant and the mercy which He swore unto thy fathers"
Here we see exactly where the Shema and the V" Ahavta come from in the Torah.
