Parashat Nitzavim (Standing) Deuteronomy 29:9 -30:20
HafTorah Isaiah 61:10 - 63:9

Dear friends,
Chris and I are looking forward to spending this Shabbat and the entire upcoming Holy Days with you. You will find the entire schedule of our services and related activities below beginning with Havdalah and Selichot this Saturday evening, September 20th.
This Shabbat, we continue our reading of the Book of Devarim (Deuteronomy) 29:9-30:20 with the conclusion of Moses's three farewell discourses. He makes it clear that his words of instruction and inspiration are not meant only for the multitude gathered around him as they prepare to enter the Holy Land, but with all the generations that follow including all of us, Just as we understand the revelation at Sinai to be as if we were present, we now put ourselves in the place of the Israelites standing before Moses. And Moses's instruction is not meant to be difficult to attain. We have been given the free will to make choices that will make our lives and the lives of all who surround us better—-safer, happier, and more meaningful. So, as we enter the holiest time of the year, let's remember the words of Moses and choose to be holy as individuals and as a people.
Shabbat services are at 7:30 pm this evening and 9:30 am tomorrow (Saturday) morning as usual in-person at shul and virtually on Zoom. As Rosh Hashanah is now immediately before us, we need volunteers to not only attend our Shabbat services, but to help us remove the Shabbat prayer books and replace them with the High Holy Day Mahzorim and also to replace our colorful Torah and Bimah covers with white ones which are symbolic of Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur symbolizing purity, new beginnings, and the aspiration to attain the wisdom and motivation to better our world. So please, step up and devote a small amount of time right after our Shabbat morning service which begins at 9:30 am. The more volunteers we have, the speedier the result!
Shabbat Shalom!
L'Shana Tova!

Spiritual Leader
